Every kitchen hood fights a slow battle with grease. Cooking vapour condenses onto the filters first, then the fan wheel, then the duct — and each layer of buildup cuts airflow a little further. The result creeps up on you: smoke that lingers, odours that reach the bedrooms, a filter screen that’s visibly saturated, and a fan that sounds busy while moving very little air.
We clean the whole path: the hood itself, grease filters (cleaned or replaced), the fan and fan wheel where accumulated grease does the most damage, and the accessible exhaust duct through to the exterior termination. Afterward we check airflow, because a shiny hood over a grease-narrowed duct hasn’t solved anything.
Ducted and recirculating hoods
Many condos have recirculating hoods that filter air and return it to the kitchen rather than exhausting outside. We service these too — filters and fan — and we’ll tell you plainly what a recirculating unit can and can’t do, rather than promising exhaust performance the hardware doesn’t have. In multi-family buildings, kitchen exhaust service combines naturally with bathroom exhaust and HRV service in a single suite visit.
Running a commercial kitchen?
This page covers residential kitchens. For restaurants, hotel kitchens and other commercial cooking operations, see our commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning — grease exhaust systems cleaned hood to fan and documented for inspectors and insurers.
